A centre for animal welfare in Croatia

The Animal Welfare Centre has been established at the Croatian Veterinary Institute, coordinated by one of the former members of WBVN. This is an important step for Croatia in moving towards an integrated national strategy for animal welfare.

The centre will collaborate closely with WBVN and it is hoped it will become the future regional platform for animal welfare.

The focus in the first instance will be on mapping gaps in animal welfare standards and then on developing tools to address the requirements under EU slaughter legislation to deliver animal welfare officer training courses.
